I’m Nick Tann, a professional musician, choir leader and vocal coach based in Hampshire. I run inclusive and uplifting group singing workshops designed to help people connect, relax, build confidence and enjoy a shared experience together.

Over the past few years I have founded and led several successful community singing groups including The Secret Eastleigh Choir, the Romsey Shanty Crew and previously the Steam Town Shanty Crew. I have also delivered corporate singing sessions for the Southampton University Business Department.

These workshops are welcoming, relaxed and designed for absolutely everyone, including people who believe they “can’t sing”.

No auditions. No pressure. No experience needed.

Workshop Options

Popular Songs Workshop

A relaxed and enjoyable group singing session with live guitar accompaniment.

Teams can choose songs in advance from a song list on the website, helping create a session that matches the mood and personality of the group. All lyrics are provided, so there is nothing to prepare and nobody needs to read music.

The atmosphere is friendly, supportive and focused on participation rather than perfection.

Sea Shanty Singing Workshop

Looking for something a little more energetic and memorable?

Sea shanties are bold, rhythmic, communal songs traditionally sung by sailors working together aboard ships. Their call-and-response structure makes them ideal for group participation and they work brilliantly for team building.

As an experienced shanty leader, I guide the group through the songs in a relaxed and accessible way, helping even complete beginners quickly join in with confidence.

These sessions are lively, fun and often surprisingly powerful.
